info:

For years now Keith Kawaii has been haunting through the internet, seemingly unnoticed, leaving traces here and there. Having stumbled upon one of his musical signposts one will be wandering the path of enlightenment - oddly ensouled yet confused, one can't help but look for more of these landmarks, which are there; plentifully scattered in the world. Be it Giant Claw, Yakuza Heart Attack or Keith Kawaii - the handwriting is always recognizable: finger exercises on synthesizers, polyrhythmic drums, vocals and melodies somewhere between pathos and craze. 2005 "Crane Engine" saw the light of day, found its way onto different file-sharing sites, where it replicated and was forced to live on different hard drives without ever being properly released - until now. Time has not been able to harm these recordings - on the contrary - Keith Kawaii makes it sound like the Prog-Rock-Era of the 80s stopped longing for the idea of "the future" and actually went there, to a faraway and unknown time, which sounds a lot more futuristic than the actual present.

there are walls of sound and there's a floor of sound.. and then there is a ceiling of sound; it starts out with some happy guitar and it regresses to some room with no feelings left; quite liberating
